President Russell M. Nelson and Elder Gary E. Stevenson visited Latter-day Saints in five countries in South America in nine days October 19–28, 2018. President Nelson ministered and offered prophetic counsel in English and Spanish to thousands of Latter-day Saints in Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile.

Thousands of Peruvian Latter-day Saints greeted President Nelson and his wife, Wendy, along with Elder Stevenson and his wife, Lesa, at an afternoon meeting for missionaries and an evening devotional. During his visit to Peru, President Nelson also met with Peru President Martín Vizcarra. (Watch the video below in Spanish.)
President Nelson spoke at a devotional at the Polideportivo Heroes de Octubre, which was broadcast to all stakes in Bolivia. He had the children in the audience stand and sing one verse of "I Am a Child of God." (Watch the video below in Spanish)
President Nelson offered advice to strengthen families as he visited Asunción, Paraguay, Monday, October 22, 2018. He addressed Latter-day Saints at a devotional Monday evening, which was held at the Conmebol Convention Center in Asunción. (Watch the video below in Spanish.)
President Nelson and Elder Stevenson met with missionaries and members during a visit to Uruguay’s capital city of Montevideo, Thursday, October 25, 2018. Both spoke to Latter-day Saints at the Landia Complex. The meeting was broadcast throughout Uruguay. (Watch the video below in Spanish.)
During his visit to Uruguay, President Nelson was interviewed by the authorized biographer of Pope Francis. Sergio Rubin, an Argentine-based journalist and writer, flew to neighboring Uruguay to sit down with President Nelson on Friday, October 26, 2018.
President Nelson dedicated the Concepción Chile Temple on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Saturday President Nelson held a luncheon on the temple grounds with government leaders and dignitaries. And Saturday evening a youth devotional was held at a local stake center, where more than 1,450 young women and men attended and heard counsel from President and Sister Nelson, Elder and Sister Stevenson and Bishop and Sister Caussé.
